Confluent Development, a Denver-based real estate investment and development firm, announced the promotion of H McNeish to vice president of land use entitlements and Matt Derrick to vice president of development at Confluent Senior Living. As the firm evolves, it is investing in the continued growth of its team and welcomes two new hires to support a robust structure for the expansion of its core real estate development platforms.
Drawing upon more than 25 years of land use and real estate development experience and 10 years of leading the land use team at Confluent, H McNeish, vice president of land use entitlements, has skillfully led multi-disciplined project teams to create development plans and gain entitlement approvals for nearly 14 million square feet of office, retail, industrial, mixed-use, multi-family, senior living, and master-planned development in 23 states.
Under McNeish’s leadership, the land use team has successfully entitled nearly every project under the firm’s $2 billion development history, solidifying Confluent’s reputation as a developer that predictably performs in complex land use opportunities. As the landscape surrounding planning approvals rapidly evolve, McNeish’s guidance and vision will inform the company’s future strategies, including the adoption of core solutions and technologies that further enhance and document active community engagement.
Confluent Senior Living continues to expand its footprint on a national scale, investing heavily in its ability to create healthy spaces for seniors and staff. To help usher in the surge of growth for this business division, Matt Derrick, former senior development director, will assume the role of vice president of development at Confluent Senior Living.
Throughout the past six years, Derrick has been instrumental in growing and delivering the Confluent Senior Housing pipeline, ensuring projects receive entitlements and approvals and construction stays on schedule and within budget. In this role, Derrick will work closely with Confluent Senior Living President John Reinsma in the identification, pursuit and acquisition of sites in new and existing markets, nationally, for future development. In addition to his development work, Matt has been elected to the Future Leaders Council with the preeminent senior housing industry organization, The National Investment Center.
As Confluent focuses on specializing in its core asset classes within its core business divisions, it plans to build a well-rounded team structure to execute across custom and complex commercial, mixed-use, retail, senior housing, industrial and office projects. The company welcomes two development directors to support the firm’s overall growth strategy: Cadie Crean and Mia Maestas.
Cadie Crean is a development director leading Confluent’s industrial and office development platforms. Cadie has more than 10 years of institutional real estate experience, most recently at Bow River Capital where she served as vice president in the firm’s real estate group and was responsible for originating, structuring and managing real estate investments within the firm’s portfolios. Her experience at Bow River and prior firms such as EverWest Real Estate Investors and AEW Capital Management included a focus on office, industrial and retail assets in multiple markets across the mountain west and the east coast.
Mia Maestas joins the Confluent Senior Living division as a development director who will work closely with other members of the team to maintain organization and alignment during this growth period. Drawing upon her background in real estate within the healthcare sector, Maestas joins from NexCore Group’s Real Estate Management team, where she most recently served as an Operations Analyst conducting financial reporting and analysis, asset management, and data analysis, including ESG for their Medical Office Building portfolio.
“As we continue to expand our diverse offerings, Confluent is bringing together the best possible team to deliver unmatched real estate solutions,” said Celeste Tanner, president of Confluent Commercial. “Our team is already highly effective in their disciplines, and the addition of Cadie and Mia will further strengthen our ability to provide the best-in-class results at every step in the development process. We are committed to improving our communities at points in the cycle and will continue to invest in the most talented specialists who can capture the needs of the current and projected real estate development market.”
